Goals of NGO Autokton are preservation and promotion of history and cultural heritage ​as well as the improvement of the rights of Albanians in Montenegro (AiM).   

As autochthonous people, with unique language and culture, AiM are especially vulnerable to assimilation. If we add to the mix emigration and shortcomings in legislation, education and respect of human and minority rights, preserving the identity of AiM presents a challenge for the whole society.

In order to preserve the multi-ethnic character of Montenegro additional effort will be required from all the relevant members of society and it is our mission  to encourage and assist any such activity. NGO Autokton also focuses its activities on reducing the ethnic distance and promoting intercultural dialogue in Montenegrin society.
